  • Family with children

The staff were very friendly and accomodating.

Both queen beds in our room had very uncomfortable mattresses. I would not stay again because of the mattresses. The exterior of the building was rundown and unattractive. The online photo must have been taken years ago when it was much newer. After I was already staying at the Econo Lodge I was told by friends living in Kelso that the Econo Lodge is in a bad part of town which was evident by the rundown buildings across the street and nearby.

  • Older travelers

Off the freeway so was very quiet, excellent rate.

  • Single

The staff were great and the room was just what I needed. Great value!

  • Group of friends

    Wafflemaker for breakfast, large room.

One could listen to the conversations in the neighbor room at night, since the rooms were connected by a door that was locked.

  • Couple

    Inexpensive hotel to stay

Small rooms and bed is not very comfortable, but still i say my stay was good as compared to the charges.

  • Group of friends

It was close to the motorcycle race track at Castle Rock. It was reasonably priced for 2012. After an initial booking error on my part, staff made it work.

Nothing really. The small circular hole in the front window (.22? pellet rifle?) was interesting, as was half the security dead bolt missing on the door, but for two old 60 something motorcycle racing fans on a weekend road trip the place was fine.

  • Family with children

The lodge was close to Mt St Helens and to I-5. We felt safe. We enjoyed walking around the adjoining town, Longview and around Sacajewa Lake. The trip to Mt St Helens was cloudy, but we could see the destructive effects of the volcano. The mountain peaked through the clouds at 5 pm when we were descending the mountain.

Wall are thin so you hear hall conversations and noise. The beds were ok. I'm glad we had a refrig in the room. The breakfast was simple and scanty.

Abdul is what liked the most. He was hospitable, kind, helpful, and his smile made me want to smile. His courtesy was by far the most refreshing that I met in my travels. I liked the price for the room, with a frig and a microwave. I was very surprised to find the amenities and comfort for that price. I am so glad that I chose to stay there and not in Portland.

I wish that I could have walked directly from my room to the car, but you can't have everything!

  • Older travelers

Room OK for the price. I would rate this a 1 star facility

TV was intermittently not working. This facility needs some upgrading. Holes in bedspread, tears in the carpet, sink badly stained, etc.

  • Group of friends

I was supposed to meet someone here (who had picked this place) who was also supposed to be staying here. But the hotel had overbooked the rooms and already told him to stay 10 miles down the road. But they didn't bother to get any contact information. My room had no phone to call him or even for a walk-up call. No alarm clock either.

It was close to the Interstate 5 and convenient for an overnight stop.

Although it indicated on the door that it was a non-smoking room, it reaked of smoke.

  • Single

The staff was the friendliest group I've ever met at a hotel. They also took time to ask what I was doing and explain where groceries stores were. This was really nice bc I was on a bike trip from seattle to portland.

The rooms facing west are about 50 yards from train tracks, which was noticable but not horrible.

  • Family with children

    the price

The desk clerk gave me the creaps...the neighborhood was questionable...and we almost drove by without staying. We really had no trouble, but I would not stay there again.

  • Single

The price was right for a place to spend the night when passing though town.

  • Couple

When we arrived at the motel the staff explained us that they had multiple motels and that our actual room was in one of these other motels at a distance of 11.2 miles. When we arrived at the other location, the staff there told us dat the Econolodge was overbooked. Realliy strange: two different stories... Actually, we were glad that we had to move to the other motel, because the Econolodge in Kelso did not look really clean: e.g. there was a used condom on the parking lot... In short, while we had to pay more than the amount we had a reservation of and we did not had a breafast, we were glad that we did not had to stay in the Econolodge in Kelso.
